By putting these acts into law, it ensured to help the Earth stay in its nature existence in certain areas. There were twenty two thousand partners in over one hundred ninety two countries that participated in Earth Day in 1970. There were over one billion people who participate in Earth Day this year. Celebrating Earth Day every year helps people to realize how much danger they are putting the earth in when they are using vehicles, burning fuels, polluting the environment and cutting down trees for more buildings to be built. Earth day reminds people that recycling and conserving are very important to the earth.

The EPA also provides public educations programs to spread knowledge about issues such as environmental contamination, waste dumping, and airborne pollutants.
The goal of the EPA is to reduce the amount of pollution and establish better waste practices to preserve a safe environment for the future. The EPA keeps record of pollutants and the effects on the environment and human health. To determine this, the agency test the soil, air, and water of a site to figure out which pollutants are present and how much is acceptable. Then, a plan is designed to either maintain or cleanup the site.
